Create your parent account

The adult creates the family account first, then adds each child to it.

A Kākā Math family is one account that belongs to an adult. Children don’t sign up on their own: you create the account, then add each child to it.

Any adult looking after a child can be the account holder: a parent, a grandparent, a caregiver.

Signing up

Open the app and choose one of:

  • Create Account, with your name, your family name, your email address and a password.
  • Sign in with Google, on either app.
  • Sign in with Apple, on iPhone and iPad.

Your phone’s password manager can make the password for you. When you tap the password box, iPhone and iPad suggest a strong one, and so does Android from its next update, through Google Password Manager. The phone offers to save it when you tap Create Account, and fills in your email and password the next time you sign in with email.

The family name is what the parent home screen calls your family, for example “Kauri Dashboard”. You can change it later.

What happens next

You land on your own home screen, which says you have no children yet. Tap Add Child to add the first one. See Add a child.

A second adult

Once the account exists, you can invite another parent or caregiver to share it. See Invite another adult.
