Invite another adult

Another parent or caregiver can share your family account, with their own sign-in. Invitations last seven days.

A second adult gets their own sign-in and sees the same children, progress and Wishes as you.

Sending the invitation

  1. Open Profile, then Invite Adult.
  2. Enter their email address and send it. On iPhone and iPad, tap Send. On Android, Invite Adult opens the Family screen, where you tap Send Invite.

They get an email with a link. Opening it on a phone with Kākā Math installed shows the invitation in the app, with Join Family. If they aren’t signed in yet, the app asks them to sign in or create an account first, then they open the link again. Without the app, the link opens a page on kakamath.nz that takes them to the app.

  • Only the email address you invited can accept, so they need to sign in or sign up with that address.
  • An invitation lasts seven days.
  • Only one invitation to an address can be open at a time.
  • Someone already in your family can’t be invited again.

Who is in your family

Your home screen lists the family’s adults under Family Adults, each marked Owner or Member, and so does Profile, then Family. The owner is whoever created the account.

Removing an adult

Only the owner can remove an adult, and nobody can remove the owner.

  1. Open Profile, then Family.
  2. Tap the remove icon next to their name.
  3. Tap Remove to confirm.

They lose access to the family’s children and progress. This works the same on iPhone, iPad and Android.

An owner’s account with another adult in it can’t be deleted until they have been removed. See Delete your account.
