Every Monday at 8am your time, Kākā Math emails you about the week that just finished, Monday to Sunday. The subject line leads with the week’s news, for example “Olive answered 42 questions last week”.
What is in it
For each child:
- what they did: lessons, questions, time spent,
- their strongest topic, and how many questions they solved without a hint,
- one question worth talking through together,
- mini-game best scores, Cheeky Checks and Daily Forages.
In a quiet week it tells you when your child last practised, what they were working on, and the next lesson with roughly how long it takes.
It also reminds you about any Wish your child has traded for that you haven’t granted yet.
Children on a weekly plan
A child on a weekly plan is left out of the Monday email. Their week is in the email you get the evening before each session instead. If every child in your family has a plan, there is no Monday email at all. A parent’s own learning profile is never in it.
While a plan is paused, that child is in neither email. They are back in the evening email once you resume it.
This week’s question
Each email carries one real question from a topic one of your children is working on, rotating between children. Tap an answer to check it on kakamath.nz, with no sign-in needed, and see the worked solution and whether your child got it right first time. Only your first answer counts.
Didn’t get one?
- Check your spam or promotions folder, and add the sender to your contacts.
- The email isn’t sent if the weekly summary is switched off. Each adult in the family has their own switch. See Notifications. On iPhone and iPad the Weekly Summary switch only shows once Push Notifications is on.
- If all your children are on weekly plans, look for the evening email instead.
Stopping it
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any weekly email, or your email app’s own unsubscribe button. That turns the weekly summary off for your address, which also stops the weekly plan email, the Weekly Summary notification and the weekend check notification. To turn it back on, switch Weekly Summary back on in the app’s notification settings. On iPhone and iPad it is there even with Push Notifications off.
